Throughout all of the processions and different memorial events, they helped give a hero’s send-off to the fallen Colerain Township officer and made sure they abided by the Woods’ family wishes to focus solely on their fallen father, boyfriend and son.
A smaller procession on Saturday took Officer Woods from the funeral home at Spring Grove Cemetery to a public memorial at Colerain High School. Along the way, it made stops at North College Hill PD, where he was once an officer, and Clovernook Country Club, where he played golf off the pro tees.
A Colerain police spokesman and chaplain said Officer Woods’ family wanted these last few days to be solemn - and they were.
