CINCINNATI — Police say a Westwood man shot his ex-lover's new boyfriend in front of the suspect's 11-month-old son, then hid from police with the infant Monday afternoon.
Tips helped officers arrest Anthony Rabe and recover the boy, Solomon Rabe, two hours later, police said.
"I'm happy to report Solomon is in good condition and is also safely in our custody, and will be safely brought back to his mother to be cared for," said Lt. Steve Saunders.
The incident started about 1 p.m. on Mozart Avenue when Rabe got into an argument with his ex-girlfriend's current boyfriend and critically wounded him, police said.

Rabe then drove off with the boy. Police considered sounding an Amber Alert until someone spotted the car on Shaffer Avenue. Rabe was arrested at his grandparents' house without incident.
Police charged Rabe with felonious assault, aggravated robbery and abduction. He is currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center and is due in court Tuesday.
