CINCINNATI — Four people were injured early Sunday morning in a shooting in the CUF neighborhood, Cincinnati police Lt. Jonathan Cunningham said.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. police responded to the 2300 block of Flora Street, which is about half a mile from the University of Cincinnati.

When police arrived on scene they found a 19-year-old woman who was shot in the thigh, a 20-year-old man shot in the foot and another 19-year-old woman shot in the arm.

All three were transported to UC Medical with non-life-threatening injuries.

An hour later, a 17-year-old girl also arrived at UC Medical Center with a graze to the leg. She was transported there by a private vehicle.

Cunningham said several people were detained for questioning immediately after the shooting. No suspects have been arrested or identified.

More than 25 evidence markers could be scene throughout the crime scene, which is where police said a street party was happening at the time of the shooting.

The shooting took place in an area that is popular off-campus housing for UC students. It is unclear if any of the people involved in the shooting are students.

Just prior to this shooting, CPD said multiple officers were in the area to address a large crowd. Multiple individuals were detained and arrests were made "for other involvement," CPD said.

Mark Bolton, a Flora Street resident, told WCPO 9 that this was the smallest party he's seen on the street in the last three years.

Bolton has lived on Flora Street for 23 years and in the CUF neighborhood for 51 years.

"They were actually blocking the middle of the street with their party," Bolton said. "You couldn't get cars up and down the street. One thing led to another and then you get what you had last night."

Bolton also said 90% of the residents in the neighborhood are now college students because no one else wants to live in the area anymore.

He called for more police and city help in the area.

"We just want to be treated like residents, but you have too many college kids," Bolton said. "We're outnumbered."
