MARTINSVILLE, Ohio — An Ohio Department of Natural Resources officer was shot while wildlife officers were investigating a deer poaching complaint near Macedonia Road and Martinsville Road around 4:00 p.m. Sunday evening, according to the Clinton County Sheriff's Office.

Officials said Kevin Behr, a 25-year veteran of ODNR, was shot and airlifted from the scene. The Sheriff's Office said Behr's injuries, while serious, don't seem to be life threatening and he is currently stable.

Police arrested three men, and charged them with poaching-related offenses including hunting without a license or permit and hunting without permission. One of the men was charged with having weapons while under disability.

Police haven't charged any of them with shooting Behr, but said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges could still be announced.
