Kings Island will not hold Halloween Haunt or WinterFest in 2020, park vice president Mike Koontz announced Tuesday.

Describing the decision as a difficult one, Koontz said operating constraints in the region meant the holiday events could not occur.

However, he added, the park will instead add a new family friendly event around the Halloween season: Tricks and Treats Fall Fest, which will start Sept. 26 “featuring rides, unique food offerings, entertainment and activities for all ages.”

Koontz promised more information about the new event soon.

“Thank you for your continued loyalty and support during this challenging period,” he wrote. “We all look forward to having fun safely for the rest of 2020 and through 2021 as well. There are many days left for summer fun, and we hope to see you in the park soon.”
