TAYLOR MILL, Ky. — Pouring rain and rolling thunderstorms delayed police efforts to reconstruct a Wednesday afternoon crash on Pride Parkway for two hours, but the damage was clear as soon as they arrived on the scene: One dead, four injured.
A white Cadillac STS traveling southbound on Pride crossed the grass median and struck a gold Chevrolet Suburban traveling northbound around 5:15 p.m., according to police. Kenton County Commonwealth's Attorney Rob Sanders said Thursday evening that authorities believe the driver of the STS was high at the time.
Crystal Buckley, 37, of Independence, was the riding passenger side in the STS. Buckley was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the STS was hospitalized at UC Medical Center.
The other driver and the two juveniles riding in the Suburban were treated st St. Elizabeth-Edgewood and released.
Kenton County police continued to investigate the crash Thursday. They ask anyone with information about it to call Sgt. Chris Haddle at (859) 392-1493.
