TAYLOR MILL, Ky. -- A Scott High School parent attacked a school bus driver Thursday afternoon, according to Kenton County Schools public relations director Jess Dykes.
Barbara Dobbs, 36, climbed aboard the bus and punched the driver in front of student passengers, Dykes said.
"This is a horrific situation," she said. "Riding the bus is a service that we provide, and under no circumstance should any student or bus driver have to endure this kind of incident."
I'm told bus driver & monitor are trained "extensively" on how to handle these situations. Parent attacked both in front of students. @WCPO pic.twitter.com/xi2DYVZYEz

Dykes said both the bus driver and the monitor followed emergency procedure by getting Dobbs off the bus and calling Kenton County police, and the district shared bus security footage with authorities to aid their investigation of the incident.
Dobbs has been charged with third-degree assault, according to Sgt. Chris Haddle of the Kenton County Police Department.
This is a developing story.
