LUDLOW, Ky. — The Ohio River was given the all-clear to reopen to traffic around 7:30 Thursday night, according to Coast Guard Petty Officer Jordan Turner.
Cleanup efforts by local Coast Guard took more than 24 hours to complete as crews worked to move submerged metal debris that might damage watercraft passing through the area.
Officials said their crews worked as quickly as they could, but the effort was slow going because their primary focus was safety.
The Ludlow Bromley Yacht Club was destroyed after a barge crashed into it just after six Wednesday Morning. The floating restaurant and bar was deemed a total loss.
