FORT WRIGHT, Ky. -- A man walked into traffic on Interstate 75/71 and was killed by a tractor-trailer in a bizarre series of incidents before dawn Friday morning, according to police.
The man, 31-year-old Brian Wallace, was first involved in a two-car collision at 6:45 a.m. near Kyles Lane, according to Kenton County police.
Then, for some reason, Wallace walked to the interstate and headed north in the southbound lanes. A tractor-trailer hit him and drove off, police said.
A minivan then hit Wallace, too, and a sedan rear-ended the minivan when it stopped.
Nobody inside either of the vehicles was hurt. Wallace, of Cincinnati, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said they don’t know if the tractor-trailer's driver realized they'd struck someone. Police said they were able to tell the pedestrian was struck by a tractor-trailer from the debris at the scene. It appeared to be a Volvo.
The Kenton County Police Department's Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating. Anyone who saw the collisions should call 859-392-1943.
