UPDATE: The Roebling Suspension Bridge is back open as of 8:45 a.m.

COVINGTON, Ky. -- The John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge is closed Thursday due to ice. A majority of the Tri-State is under an Ice Storm Warning until noon, so icy conditions are expected.
All Southbank Shuttles will be using the Clay Wade Bailey Bridge instead, according to the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky.

During a previous winter weather event, Assistant Chief Brian Steffen of the Covington Police Department told WCPO that the deck on the bridge is grated so road crews can’t salt the bridge like other interstates.
