COVINGTON, Ky. -- Drivers must plan for several days of closures on the John A. Roebling Suspension Bridge, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

A bridge inspection will close the bridge on four separate occasions starting on Thursday. The hours for the closures are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the following days:

  • Thursday, Aug. 30
  • Friday, Aug. 31
  • Tuesday, Sept. 4
  • Wednesday, Sept. 5

The bridge will be closed to all vehicle traffic, however, pedestrian access will be maintained on one side of the bridge.

The Roebling Suspension Bridge reopened in April after being temporarily shut down for repairs in March. A piece of steel was damaged when a car crashed into it.

The bridge inspection is not happening over the weekend, but there are Riverfest traffic restrictions to plan for on Sunday as well.
