NEW MARKET TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A man and a horse are dead after a car crashed into a horse-drawn buggy Tuesday in Highland County, Ohio, according to police.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a crash on southbound US-62 near New Market Tuesday around noon. When officers arrived on scene, they found a car driven by an 18-year-old man crashed into the back of the buggy driven by 56-year-old Scott Richardson. The buggy's horse was euthanized at the scene.
A medical helicopter flew Richardson to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries, but he died from his injuries at the hospital around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday.
There is no word on what caused this crash, or if there are any arrests.
The highway patrol is still investigation this crash with the help of the Highland County Sheriff’s Office and Paint Creek Fire and EMS.
