SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Moeller High School student who attempted to climb onto a SUV was instead thrown from the vehicle Wednesday evening.
He was transported via helicopter to University Hospital, where deputies said he would be treated for serious injuries.
According to a news release from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office, a teen driver had been traveling through Moeller’s rear parking lot after school when the other teen climbed onto the driver-side running board, the small step that helps passengers safely climb in and out of larger vehicles.
The vehicle traveled 50 more feet before the boy was thrown off.
Neither the driver nor the passenger were injured in the incident. Deputies wrote they did not suspect drugs or alcohol had been involved.
