SYCAMORE TOWNSHIP, Ohio — The demolition of some buildings will mark the start of the first phase of construction on a new mixed-use development in Sycamore Township on Monday.

Gallery at Kenwood, a $130 million mixed-use development, will be constructed on over seven acres of land on Kenwood Road near Jewish Hospital and Kenwood Towne Centre. But first, the 22 four-family buildings need to be demolished.

"This project has been a long time in the making," said David Bastos, the president of Capital Investment Group, the developer of Gallery at Kenwood. "We appreciate the hard work from all of the stakeholders that have been involved in the project ..."

The development is supposed to include 248 luxury apartments, a 115,000-square-foot Class A office space, a six-story 130-room hotel, two restaurants and an 801-space parking garage.

It is estimated that the development will bring over 800 construction jobs and over 600 permanent jobs to the area, and an annual tax revenue of $1.4 million split between Hamilton County and Sycamore Township.
