SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A bar in Springfield township received a citation for serving alcohol past 10:00 p.m.

Agents with the Ohio Investigative Unit, the unit charged with enforcing the state’s liquor laws, visited Poor Michael’s Bar in Springfield Township Saturday at 11:00 p.m. after receiving a complaint. Agents said they witnessed drinks being served past the state-ordered 10:00 p.m. cutoff. Agents were also able to purchase drinks.

Poor Michael’s Bar did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Some bars and restaurants have criticized the 10:00 p.m. last call for alcohol as too restrictive and damaging to their bottom line.

Another area bar was cited for violating the alcohol curfew in early August. Kings Grill in Lebanonwas cited after agents were able to purchase alcohol at `10:45 p.m.
