SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A Springfield Township bar has been cited for violating COVID-19 health orders.
Agents with the Ohio Investigative Unit, the unit charged with enforcing the state’s liquor laws, received a complaint about Joey’s Roadhouse on Burlington Road Saturday around 10:00 p.m, according to a press release.
Agents said the bar’s exterior lights were turned off, windows closed and doors locked, but that bar staff continued to allow several people to enter.
Agents and officers from Springfield Township Police Department entered the bar at 10:30 p.m. and said they observed around 30 customers drinking alcohol "in a manner consistent with normal business hours."
The case will go before the Ohio Liquor Control Commission for potential penalties, including fines and/or the suspension or revocation of liquor permits.
