SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP (HAMILTON COUNTY), Ohio -- A local cemetery is now offering GPS tracking to help visitors find their deceased loved ones.

An estimated 49,000 people have been buried across 165 acres in The Arlington Memorial Gardens, according to cemetery president Dan Applegate. To make it easier to track down a specific person's remains, Arlington is working with a company called webCemeteries.com to geotag and map the entire grounds this summer.

Visitors will be able to type in a person's name on Arlington's website to receive directions to that person's grave, or to the cemetery's landmarks like the mausoleum, lake and sculptures.

"The GPS tracking works on any smart phone or tablet and is simple to use," Applegate said in a news release.

The cemetery has also named its streets and is in the process of installing street signs to help make navigation easier.
