SPRINGDALE, Ohio — A Wednesday night shooting near a Springdale apartment complex left an 18-year-old man dead, police confirmed early Thursday morning. A group of suspects remained at large.

According to a news release from the Springdale Police Department, the fatal shooting of Josue Baldomero Lopez Ramirez appeared to have started as an armed robbery around 8:30.

The first report to 911 described the incident as a crash with a person injured on Chesterdale Drive. When officers arrived, they found Ramirez shot and another victim wounded. Emergency services took Ramirez to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he died.

Police believe Ramirez and the other victim might have been attacked by a group of three or four men in a black car that had been parked near Ramirez’s. If identified, they will be charged with aggravated murder.

Anyone with information about the attack should call Springdale police at 513-346-5760 or leave an anonymous tip for CrimeStoppers at 513-352-3040.
