Cincinnati Quest Martial Arts hosts free self-defense workshop for women

Posted

SPRINGDALE, Ohio -- Women from Greater Cincinnati can learn simple but effective self-defense techniques at a free workshop Saturday.

James and Johanna Norris, owners of Cincinnati Quest Martial Arts, will  take participants through several scenarios and show them skills that can be used in a variety of situations.

The workshop also will cover important topics such as awareness, verbal techniques and how to create the confidence and resolve needed to protect oneself. Knowing how to deal with the confusion, fear and anger that arises from an attack, both during and afterward, is just as important as the physical skills, according to the Norrises.

The husband-wife couple has been teaching martial arts and women's self-defense skills for over 25 years

Saturday's workshop is from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Cincinnati Quest Martial Arts, 11711 Princeton Pike Suite 451. It's open to all women ages 14 and up, but space is limited: call 513-671-0239 to register.
