CINCINNATI — A Sharonville church pastor, who confessed to sexually coercing a 17-year-old parishioner by telling her he could talk to God and "cleanse" her through sex acts, has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison.
In June 2020, 42-year-old Cesar Guerrero, Jr. admitted to engaging in sex acts with an underage girl on July 20, 2019 and Aug. 5, 2019 in his office at the Mision Cristiana el Calvario Church.
Court documents stated Guerrero told the victim, who had been molested as a child, that God was speaking to him, and the only way to get out of the "dark place" was for the victim to have sex with him. The Liberty Township man was accused of having the girl perform oral sex on him while he read scripture and prayers in what he called a “cleansing process.”
Guerrero also communicated with the victim through texts, audio and video calls on Facebook Messenger, according to prosecutors citing his May 2020 plea agreement.
Quoting biblical verses in his requests, Guerrero also coerced the victim into sending him explicit photos online and engaging in a sexually explicit video call.
Via video conference Monday, U.S. District Judge Douglas R. Cole sentenced Guerrero to 120 months in prison.
