SHARONVILLE, Ohio — A gun show vendor shot another Friday afternoon while setting up his booth at the Sharonville Convention Center.

According to Sharonville police, the shooting appeared accidental. Both the shooter and the victim were vendors preparing for the C & E Gun Show, which is hosted several times each year at the convention center.

Police said the shooter, a man, was inspecting a small-caliber gun as he prepared to put it on display. He released the top slide without realizing a live round was in the chamber; the bullet ricocheted off the floor and hit the other vendor, a woman, in the leg.

The victim was hospitalized, according to police. Officers confiscated the gun and bullet casing.
