CINCINNATI — A Mt. Healthy high school student was arrested Wednesday for bringing a loaded gun to school, police said.
According to Mt. Healthy police, 18-year-old Demario Williams has been charged with illegal conveyance of a firearm into a school. Police said the teen was in possession of a loaded 9mm semi-automatic pistol.
Police said they're also investigating another student found with bullets, who will be charged as a juvenile in the incident.
Mt. Healthy Police Chief Vince Demasi said the school was put on lockdown around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning when Williams was arrested.
Police said the school is still on lockdown as police search for any additional weapons.
Demasi said the lockdown is only a precautionary measure, and there is no ongoing threat to the school.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
A judge Thursday morning set the teen's bond at $50,000.
