LINCOLN HEIGHTS, Ohio — A 16-year-old and a 19-year-old were shot in Lincoln Heights while sitting in a vehicle Thursday evening, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff.

Deputies arrived at the 1100 block of Van Buren Avenue just after 5 p.m. for a reported auto accident, but they soon learned that shots had been fired in the area. Officers found the crash scene at the intersection of Van Buren and Leggett, where a silver Saturn Vue had been abandoned. Witnesses told police that three people had fled from the vehicle.

A short time later, Lockland Police officers who came to assist found the two on Medosh Lane with gunshot wounds in their shoulders. One was taken to UC Medical Center and the other to Cincinnati Children's Hospital. Neither of their injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

Police said a third person who fled from the vehicle has not been located.

The shooting victims told police two unknown suspects shot at them while they were parked on Van Buren before they fled and crashed the Saturn.
