PD: Shots fired at squad car in Lincoln Heights

Posted

LINCOLN HEIGHTS, Ohio -- A 21-year-old man was charged with attempted murder after shots were fired at a Hamilton County sheriff deputy's cruiser Sunday night, according to police.

Michael Brown, 21, of Lincoln Heights, also faces a charge of felonious assault and having a weapon under disability. Police took Brown into custody after the shooting happened in the 1000 block of Jackson Street at about 10:45 p.m.

Police from multiple law enforcement agencies searched the area with K-9 units for about an hour before capturing Brown.

Brown was hospitalized for a hand injury, police said.

Officers continue to search for a second suspect involved in the incident. Police said it appeared the incident began as a shoot out between Brown and the second man.

Brown was released from prison in August after serving time for a previous felonious assault conviction.

Brown was scheduled to be arraigned in Hamilton County court Monday morning.
