KENWOOD TWP., Ohio — According to a police report released Tuesday, officers now believe one of the people killed in a Kenwood Hampton Inn hotel room is one of the suspects.

The report said when officers arrived at the hotel, they found 18-year-old Mykell Gamble with a gun shot wound in his left foot. Gamble told police there were two people upstairs in the hotel who were also shot, the report states.

When officers found the room, the report says the door was locked and officers found what appeared to be a bullet hole in the door.

Inside the room, police found 15-year-old Ja'Quan Howard and 20-year-old Taymar Jones dead, with gunshot wounds.

The police report refers to Jones as a suspect in the shooting.

The report goes on to say that hotel surveillance footage shows three suspects with guns enter the hotel room, and two of them later fled in an unknown direction.

Major Bill Rarrick of the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office said they do not believe Howard is a suspect in any aspect of the case.

"The 15-year-old, Ja'quan, was an innocent young man as far as we have learned up to that point," Rarrick said.

The police report also lists bullets and bullet fragments that were recovered as evidence at the scene.

Police said their investigation is still ongoing.
