COLUMBIA TWP. — Hamilton County Sheriff's deputies are searching for two suspects they said they believe may have stolen from a Home Depot before leading them on a police chase Saturday afternoon, according to a press release from the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.
The release said deputies were called to the Home Depot on Highland Avenue for a possible theft around 3:51 Saturday afternoon. Police said one man and one woman got into a silver 2007 Dodge Caliber after police ordered them to stop.
They fled west on Highland Avenue and continued into Norwood, where police said the driver lost control and hit another vehicle stopped on Montgomery Road. No one was injured in the crash, but police said the pair continued to drive and fled north on Montgomery Road.
Police said they stopped pursuing the suspects around the 6000 block of Montgomery.
The release states the pursuit reached speeds of around 45 to 50 mph, lasted around four minutes and the suspects ran for around 3.7 miles before deputies stopped pursuing.
