HARRISON, Ohio — A fuel truck overturned on Dry Fork Road Thursday afternoon, sending about 500 gallons of diesel fuel into a nearby creek, the Harrison fire chief told WCPO at the scene.

The crash blocked the road in both directions near 9900 Dry Fork Road as crews worked to clear the scene. The road will be shut down for 16 hours as the spill is cleaned and Duke Energy replaces a utility pole, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

The fuel spilled into an unnamed creek that connects with Lee Creek. The Environmental Protection Agency is responding, the chief said.

WCPO will update this story when more information is available.
