HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio — The past few months have been financially difficult for many people, so Hamilton County is offering a temporary reduction in the cost of some tickets and fines.

"We wanted to do our part to help to try and ease up your financial difficulties," Hamilton County Municipal Court Judge Heather Russell said. "This is judges realizing these are not easy financial times for us and we're trying to help individuals and families keep their heads above water."

The cost of some traffic tickets and misdemeanors has been reduced to $100, according to county officials.

Traffic tickets that are eligible for this are those that don't involve a victim, so things like speeding or running a red light. Some of the misdemeanors that are eligible are disorderly conduct and drug possession.

What's even better is that it doesn't matter when you received the ticket or fine. Any eligible ticket or fine, whether you received it last week or last year, can be paid at the reduced rate.

The reduce rate is only available though until Aug. 31. You can pay a fine or ticket online on the Clerk of Court's website here.
