CINCINNATI — A Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy who died last week of COVID-19 symptoms will be laid to rest Wednesday.
Deputy Donald Gilreath III, who served with the sheriff’s office since April 7, 2005, passed away on Friday. He worked in the Hamilton County Jail through the pandemic, though it is unclear if he contracted the virus at the jail.
Services will be held Wednesday at Mihovk-Rosenacker Funeral Home at 10211 Plainfield Rd.
Law enforcement visitation is from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. before a private visitation for family and friends.
The private funeral ceremony will be streamed at 2 p.m. on the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.
Following the private family ceremony, there will be a graveside service and ceremonial presentation from the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office to Gilreath's family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gilreath’s honor to The Shield.
