GREEN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Dispatchers with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office confirmed a woman was shot in the chest Monday morning in her home in Green Township.
Green Twp. police said two people knocked on the door of the 41-year-old woman's home and, "after a short verbal exchange" one of the individuals shot her in the chest.
Police responded to Boomer Road for the shooting just before 10 a.m. Dispatch did not know how serious the woman's injuries were, and they could not say what the cause of the shooting was.
St. Ignatius School, down the road from where the shooting took place, sent a letter to parents informing them the school was made aware and had kept children indoors for recess while police searched the area with K9 units.
Principal Kevin Vance said in the email that Green Township Police were searching for a suspect after an SUV was seen fleeing the area. Vance said police did not believe there was a threat to students.
No one is in custody at this time, according to police.
