FAIRFIELD, Ohio — Officers with the Fairfield Police Department called the Fairfield Fire Department Thursday morning for a fire near a police scene at a motel.
The police were already at the Capri Motel on Dixie Highway around 1 a.m. Thursday for what they are calling "police activity" when officers saw a fire near the back of the motel.
Officers called the fire department, and when firefighters arrived on scene they found a fire in one of the motel units. Firefighters then called a second alarm to help with the fire.
The motel has been inactive since a fire happened there a few weeks ago, so there shouldn't have been anyone inside it Thursday morning.
The police arrested two people near the scene, but there is no word if those two people had anything to do with the fire or if the arrests were the result of the initial police activity in the area.
WCPO will update this story as more information becomes available.
