Fire leaves smoke damage at Elmwood Place home

ELMWOOD PLACE, Ohio -- Fire erupted around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday at a home at 511 Oak St., but no injuries were reported since nobody home at the time.

Elmwood Place, Woodlawn, Saint Bernard, Springfield Township and Wyoming fire departments all sent teams who worked together to assess the damage and determine a cause. Crews arrived to find heavy smoke pouring from the windows and door. Initially there was some concern that the the man who lives there and some pets may have been inside, but firefighters found nothing in their search. 

A neighbor said the owner was at work when the fire broke out. There was not a great deal of damage to the exterior of the house, but firefighters say the interior sustained a lot of smoke damage.
