COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Students at Princeton Community Middle School are doing their part for the environment this Halloween with a new recycling campaign called "Trick-or-Trash."
After the children go trick-or-treating, instead of throwing their candy wrappers away, the students will put their wrappers in specially marked "Trick-or-Trash" bins from the company Rubicon. Then, the homeroom with the most wrappers collected wins donuts at school.
Ashley Mirrow, the seventh-grade science teacher at the school, said students in the Earth Club came up with this idea as a way to do more for the environment.
"Really, they have great ideas as how we can better use our resources," Morrow said. "So just letting them steer the conversations has been really, really cool even in a virtual setting."
