COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Fellow Tri-State law enforcement agencies and first responders are grieving with members of the Colerain Police Department following the death of Colerain officer Dale Woods.
Woods died Monday at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Chief Mark Denney said during an evening news conference. Woods was struck by a pickup Friday night while responding to a crash on Colerain Avenue.
Since the announcement multiple area agencies have posted tributes in support of the Colerain Police Department, and for Woods’ family. The Cincinnati Police Department posted a message from Chief Eliot Isaac who said, "You are all in our thoughts & prayers."

First responders from a number of agencies drove with emergency lights flashing during a procession Tuesday to honor Woods.
Ohio Governor John Kasich said in a Twitter post that flags in the capital would be lowered to half-staff for Officer Woods.

Residents offered condolences at the Colerain Veterans Memorial where a wreath with a thin blue line rests at the entrance. Blue ribbons dot the town as well.
