COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Andrew Allen is undergoing brain surgery Monday, according to his father, Todd.
Andrew is the older brother of Brody Allen, the 2-year-old who drew wide support as his family celebrated an early Christmas because doctors said his brain cancer meant he wouldn't survive until Christmas. Just 11 days after Brody's funeral, Andrew was in the hospital after being hit by multiple drivers as he was crossing the street.
The boys' father, Todd Allen, has continued to provide updates on Andrew's condition on the "Team Brody" Facebook page. But on Monday, he wrote that Andrew "has taken a few steps back" and doctors decided to move up his brain surgery.
The family is hoping that the surgery will stop Andrew's regression.
"We all knew that he would need this surgery and we have been preparing ourselves for it. It is brain surgery never the less," Todd Allen wrote. "So please if your (sic) inclined, say a pray for him today."
