MIAMI TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- Patrons of the former Casa Loma Bar probably don’t recognize its new name or storefront ... yet.
Owner Jacki Darwish reopened the Cleves joint as Jacki’s Bar on Sunday. She said she chose to rebrand with a phoenix to symbolize rising from ashes after Casa Loma caught fire in December 2016.
“I knew I’d be back bigger, better, stronger,” Darwish said.
Darwish picked Super Bowl Sunday for her grand reopening in the hopes that her Cleves family would pack the house.
“It’s a strong community down here,” Darwish said. “They’d do anything for you. It’s not just a community. It’s a family.”
Jacki’s Bar also hosted a fundraiser for Oser-Roth and Friends, which raises money for children with terminal illnesses.
