Yard out of control? Try the Uber of lawn care

CINCINNATI -- Spring has officially sprung, and if you need lawn care, there's an app for that.

GreenPal, which recently launched in Cincinnati, has been compared to Uber -- except instead of calling users a car, it connects them with professional lawn care services in their area and allows them to pick from among the companies on offer.

It's convenient for both companies and customers, said David Crawford of P&P Express.

"They advertise for you," he said.

Once users agree on a quote from a list of lawn care providers, they can schedule the job.

Inviting strangers to work on one's home can be a prospect that invites trepidation, but GreenPal ensures its contractors are trustworthy by running background checks before they are allowed to accept jobs.

Once the job is done, the user gets a picture of the finished product and an opportunity to rate the contractor.
