CINCINNATI — Police arrested two suspects in connection to a fatal shooting in Westwood on Thursday, according to Cincinnati police.
Rakim Smith, 24, and Rakeym Owens, 18, are charged in the shooting death of 18-year-old Ramon Benton. Another person, a juvenile, was injured in the shooting.
A judge on Friday issued a $1.5 million bond for both Smith and Owens. Both stand charged with murder and felonious assault.
The shooting happened at about 6:45 p.m. near Ferncrest Apartments on Ferncrest Court.
First responders transported Benton and the juvenile to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where Benton died. Capt. Doug Snider said the juvenile was in serious condition.
The Cincinnati Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating.
