CINCINNATI — Police arrested a man Tuesday in connection with the murder of a 49-year-old man earlier this month.

Officers with the Cincinnati Police Department responded to the 500 block of Poplar Street around 9:30 p.m. for a shooting on March 11. Once on scene, they found 49-year-old James Douthit suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to UC Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

On Tuesday, homicide detectives arrested and charged 36-year-old Antwon Wilson with Douthit's murder. In an affidavit filed Tuesday, police said Wilson shot Douthit multiple times in the face during a "verbal altercation."

Wilson is currently being held in the Hamilton County Justice Center awaiting his arraignment Wednesday morning.

Anyone with information about this homicide is asked to call (513) 352-3542.
