CINCINNATI -- Marching band members from Walnut Hills High School are getting creative to raise the $40,000 they need to replace the school's 13-year-old uniforms.

Students recently rewrote lyrics to the showstopping tune "This Is Me" from the film "The Greatest Showman" to encourage community members to donate funds to their GoFundMe page here.

"When the seam rips again on these pants of mine. I'm gonna sew them up before halftime. We agreed we will plead. Marching band new uniforms, this we need!" students sing as they dance through the school's hallways and across the football field.

"While our uniforms may look fine from a distance, many are beyond repair because of worn fabric, torn and broken zippers and snaps and years of mending and cleaning," band members wrote on the fundraising page. "We would love if you could help us continue our tradition of music excellence and consider contributing to the Walnut Hills High School Band Uniform Replacement Fund."

Each uniform will cost about $300 to replace. All contributions are tax-deductible, and all donations over $50 will be recognized in the band's concert programs. If you need additional information, please contact the school's music department at 513-363-8510.
