CINCINNATI — To paraphrase Thin Lizzy, the trains are back in town!

The "Holiday Junction featuring the Duke Energy Holiday Trains" exhibit at the Cincinnati Museum Center opens Friday, and the display is as festive as ever.

This year's train display shows over 300 rail cars and 60 locomotives as they ride over 1,000 feet of miniature-rail through landscapes reminiscent of Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

In addition to the trains, there is an interactive winter wonderland where people can build a snowperson, create their own footprints in the snow and ride a train. Not a model-sized train, mind you, but that would be enter-train-ing.

"The trains are always the show stopper," Cincinnati Museum Center spokesman Cody Hefner said. "But it's these little add-on pieces that are really great for kids because they are very interactive... For kids who have a lot of energy and who are kind of rambunctious, it lets them have an outlet for that."

"Holiday Junction featuring the Duke Energy Holiday Trains" will run through Jan. 5, 2020.

Admission for the event is $14.50 for adults, $10.50 for children 12 and under, $13.50 for seniors and $5.50 for toddler ages one and two. The price also includes admission to the Museum of Natural History & Science, Cincinnati History Museum and Duke Energy Children’s Museum.
