CINCINNATI — Staff at Cincinnati's Department of Transportation and Engineering give it high marks for effectiveness but voice concerns about their workplace.
That's the take from an independent report into DOTE management and morale obtained by WCPO. The so-called "climate assessment" is based on extensive interviews with the staff.
The department takes care of the city's roads, bridges, sidewalks and bike paths.
On the plus side, the report says workers have the tools they need to do their jobs and that people perform at a high level.
But workers say a lot more training is needed in areas including technology, implicit bias and communications.
They also say favoritism has resulted in less trust of management, especially regarding promotions.
