Police ID man shot and killed while inside car in South Fairmount

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati police have identified the man shot and killed late Tuesday night in South Fairmount.

Investigators said 24-year-old Corey McDaniel was shot while inside a car near an apartment building in the 2100 block of Harrison Avenue around 9:15 p.m.

He was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police have not released any information on a possible suspect.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call the Cincinnati Police Department's Homicide Unit at 513-352-3542.

Shootings like this are having an impact on the Cincinnati area. WCPO spoke to members of the East Westwood improvement association who showed up at the scene.

"We're from the community. We're products of the community. So, that's why the change is so important to us," Vice President for the East Westwood Improvement Association Robert More said. "We both work with the youth, mentor. I run a youth sports program on this side of town and it just, it angers me that this keeps happening daily around our kids."
