CINCINNATI — A mother is facing charges after, police said, she left three children at home alone with drugs and a loaded gun.
According to a Cincinnati police report, 28-year-old Kenyona Hunter, of South Cumminsville, left her three children — ages 6, 8 and 11 — home with a stash of heroin and a loaded .357 revolver for eight hours on Thursday, March 31.
The mother is now facing three child endangering charges on top drug charges.
Danielle Pauley, another mother who lives in the neighborhood and knows Hunter, said neighbors knew Hunter as a hard-working mom who would do anything for her children. The charges against Hunter confused Pauley.
“Why drag the kids into it?” she said. “They are innocent and harmless.”
Other neighbors who did not wish to be identified told WCPO that they are praying for Hunter. Hunter’s family members declined to comment.
A grand jury report on the case is due April 11.
