CINCINNATI -- Maybe second only to the Reds themselves, Skyline Chili is one of the most "Cincinnati" things there is.
Now -- having established that -- dare, if you will, to imagine a Cincinnati Reds Opening Day that does not include free Skyline Chili cheese coneys.
It just doesn't make sense, does it?
Good thing we don't have to live in such a world.
It's true, baseball fans have no shortage of foods that go hand-in-hand with baseball: I mean, the food -- namely, peanuts and Cracker Jacks -- is even a central part of the classic "Take Me Out to the Ballgame." And don't forget the popcorn, the soft pretzels... the beer (enjoyed responsibly, of course).
But there isn't really a food that's as "Reds baseball" as Skyline Chili is "Reds baseball."
So, if on Monday you find yourself saddened that you weren't able to score a much-coveted Opening Day ticket, at least take solace that all is still right in the world, as participating Skyline locations are again giving away a free cheese coney with the purchase of any menu item.
That's all day on Monday, at participating stores only (not applicable at Great American Ballpark).
Here's a map that should point you to the nearest Skyline Chili location:
