CINCINNATI -- A second person has died as a result of a crash in Sayler Park last month.

Kevin Fritsch, 61, died Thursday at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, according to the coroner’s report.

Fritsch was riding in the passenger seat of Charles Foust’s pickup at about 12:59 a.m. on Feb. 26, when James Hopkins, who was driving a semitrailer, hit their pickup as Foust was turning east onto River Road from Monitor Avenue. The impact of the crash forced Foust’s pickup off the road and into a grassy median.

Hopkins’ semitrailer crossed the centerline and overturned in the eastbound lanes. Joseph Winter, 60, who was driving a semitrailer, struck Hopkins’ semi. Winter was not injured.

Foust, 64, died at the scene. First responders transported Fritsch to the hospital, where he had been in critical condition. Hopkins sustained minor injuries. Foust, Fritsch and Hopkins were not wearing seatbelts.
