Police make arrest in Cincinnati's first fatal shooting of 2021

CINCINNATI — Cincinnati's first fatal shooting of 2021 happened Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m near 7369 Brook Crest Dr. in Roselawn.

The Cincinnati Police Department said 38-year-old Kevin Suttles was shot and killed, and one other victim was taken to a hospital for unknown injuries.

Then, around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, police said they arrested 28-year-old Jahman Akins and charged him with murder for the death of Suttles.

A judge issued Akins a $1 million bond on Wednesday. Akins is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center.

Police are still investigating the shooting.
