CINCINNATI -- One person is dead and two other people are injured after a fire in Riverside early Wednesday morning, according to Cincinnati Fire and EMS.
The fire broke out at about 3 a.m. in the 3357 Hillside Avenue. First responders transported two people in the home to a local hospital. They are in stable condition.
Fire Chief Greg Potter said a passerby saw the house on fire and called 911.
The basement and first floor of two-story home were on fire when firefighters arrived on scene. Two people were able to get out before crews arrived.
At one point, the home was completely engulfed, which makes it difficult for crews to move through the building and investigate, Potter said. Firefighters were able to use ladders to access the second floor.
“Due to the stability of the building, we haven’t gone in and done a complete search of everything, a lot of debris can fall on everything,” Potter said.
