CINCINNATI — If recent social media photos of the Macy’s Holiday Tree on Fountain Square have left you stumped, wood you be-leaf us if we said you won’t have to pine for a better-looking conifer for long or be evergreen with envy for another city’s shrub, that ours should be spruced up by the weekend?
3CDC senior event marketing manager Emily Stowe said the 65-foot Norway spruce is not damaged – there’s just a much smaller crew working on it this year, so it’s taking more time to get it beautified.
Stowe said there are only a certain number of people who are certified to trim the tree and tie up the branches in order to make it look full and fabulous.
Fountain Square posted about the current state of the tree on their Facebook page.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the tree will not be lit up during the annual Light Up the Square event in 2020. Instead, there will be a televised and online-only show on Friday, Nov. 27.
