CINCINNATI -- The American Red Cross is asking for your help: Tuesday is World Blood Donor Day, and people across the country are giving blood in honor of Sunday morning's mass shooting in Orlando.
According to the Red Cross, summer is already traditionally a challenging time for blood centers and hospitals because of people going out of town for vacation and severe weather depleting their supply.
Every donation can help save the lives of up to three people. Everybody who donates Tuesday will get exclusive bandages with the word "Give" on it.
To show support and share blood donation stories, use the hashtag "GiveInspires" in posts, tweets and photos. Visit the Hoxworth Blood Center at 3130 Highland Ave. to donate blood or search the website here for other donation locations.
